Oklahoma State got its second state Miss America in as many years as Miss Oklahoma Lauren Nelson was crowned the Miss America 2007. The win also takes her home states triumph at the American beauty pageant to six the same number that puts them joint first alongside Ohio and California. Nelson is a student dreaming of having a Masters in Musical Theatre. She would laugh her way to the bank with $50,000 await her in the form of scholarship and plenty more that she could earn herself via appearances fee and endorsements. Shilah Philips who is also incidentally the first Black lady to win the Miss Texas title was the first runner-up and Miss Georgia Kozak finned second runner-up both stand to win $25,000 and $15,000 respectively.
