Mel Gibson held for drunken driving

Hollywood Braveheart Mel Gibson has been arrested in Malibu, California. And authorities are investigating a case against him for alleged driving under the influence of alcohol.
A spokesman for the LA county Sheriff’s Dept has said that Mel Gibson’s Lexus was cruising on the Pacific Coast highway, when authorities stopped him.
Mel Gibson was travelling almost double the permissable speed in a 45 miles/hour zone. A breathe analyzer test revealed the blood alcohol content to be higher than the permissible limit in California.
The actor-director was released on bail after coughing up $5000. Mel Gibson is a leading Hollywood face and the director of blockbusters such as “Braveheart”, for which he won the best-director Oscar in 1995.
