Los Angeles fundraiser for land mine victims was hit badly when Former Beatles Paul McCartney announced his inability to continue with the event due to his pending divorce with wife Heather Mills.
Paul McCartney and Heather Mills were patrons for Adopt-A-Minefield a branch of British land mine charity further announced that the annual event that was going to be held on October 11 stands canceled until further reports.
The event raised $3 million in 2005 hosted by the couple will be badly hit this time. According to Adopt-A-Minefield director of the British branch Keith Kelly, “Heather Mills and Paul McCartney remain patrons of the Adopt-A-Minefield campaign”.
The charity tried to find other people of the same caliber but failed due to which the event was canceled. There are rumors that Paul McCartney would donate similar amount to compensate for his withdrawal to which Kelly CLARIFIED, “There is no obligation for Paul McCartney to make up the shortfall, but he remains patron and is passionate about the land mine issue. He hasn’t as yet paid a check. Until something arrives you don’t know what it’s going to be and what amount it is.”
We all knew that divorce brings pain to the couple and family but this divorce will for sure will bring pain to thousands of land mine victims.Now they say say say Paul McCartney lives and let dies.
