It was Johnny Depp’s night all the way at MTV Movie Awards night, where the Pirates of the Caribbean star swept away two awards.

The star who was nominated alongside Angelina Jolie in Best Villain category was not expected at the awards night, but made a jaw dropping appearance and collected his awards for Best Comic Performance for Pirates of The Caribbean and Best Villain for Oscar winning movie, Sweeny Todd.

Depp humbly revealed that he had no idea how he won the comic award, “I’m not really sure how this happened. You can ask anyone, I’m not a very funny person,” he said to the crowd.

The Awards night was electrifying at California’s Gibson Amphitheater with performance by Carly Simon.

The other lucky ones who picked up gongs at the Awards night are

Best Female Performance - Ellen Page in Juno
Best Male Performance - Will Smith in I Am Legend
Best Movie - Transformers
Best Summer Movie So Far - Iron Man
Best Kiss - Briana Evigan and Robert Hoffman in Step Up
Breakthrough Performance - Zac Efron in Hairspray
Best Fight - Sean Faris and Cam Gigandet in Never Back Down
Best Comedic Performance - Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean
Best Villain - Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd
